The Youth Boardsmanship Institute offers high school aged youth training on how to be an effective board member. There are three components:
- building leadership skills and knowledge about non-profit boards through course work;
- gaining volunteer experience in community organizations; and
- the opportunity to become a board member for a non-profit agency.
Youth Participants will have the opportunity to:
- become a board member for a non-profit organization;
- provide the board of directors with insight regarding youth and their perspective about needs in the community;
- gain valuable volunteer experience; and
Board meetings:
Once placed on a board, youth will be expected to attend all board meetings (usually once a month)

October 11, 2008
9am - 4pm
January 10, 2009
9am - 4pm
April 4, 2009
9am - 4pm
Participants are required to attend all classroom sessions.
