What is the Youth Boardsmanship Institute?
The Youth Boardsmanship Institute offers high school aged youth training on how to be an effective board member. There are three components:
  • building leadership skills and knowledge about non-profit boards through course work;
  • gaining volunteer experience in community organizations; and
  • the opportunity to become a board member for a non-profit agency.
Youth Participants will have the opportunity to:
  • become a board member for a non-profit organization;
  • provide the board of directors with insight regarding youth and their perspective about needs in the community;
  • gain valuable volunteer experience; and
Board meetings:
Once placed on a board, youth will be expected to attend all board meetings (usually once a month)
