TUCSON
LEADER AWARD NOMINATIONS
ARE DUE April 29, 2005
TUCSON, Ariz. (April 5, 2005) –
Nominations are now being accepted
for the Greater Tucson Leadership
Tucson Leader Award. Nominations will
be accepted from the general public
and forms can be obtained by calling
the Greater Tucson Leadership Office
at 512-5485 or visiting the website
at www.TucsonLeadership.org. It is
an award that is given annually to
Tucsonans whose commitment and active
involvement in the community exemplifies
proven leadership. Selection criteria
is based on the mission and goals
of Greater Tucson Leadership and consistent
demonstrated leadership either by
finding solutions for community problems,
implementing positive change that
affects the quality of life in Southern
Arizona, initiating or facilitating
programs that generate community dialogue,
and/or increasing understanding and
appreciation of diversity and encouraging
responsible action that enhances Tucson’s
cultural richness.
The selection committee will be composed
of Greater Tucson Leadership members
and/or previous award winners. The
committee may select more than one
award recipient each year.
Past award winners include: Richard
Myers, Emily Meschter, Dr. Richard
Carmona, Dr. Augusto Ortiz and Martha
Ortiz, Judge Nanette Warner, Jim Click,
Jr., Lorraine Lee, James S. Griffith,
F. Ann Rodriquez, Charles “Punch”
Woods and C. Donald Hatfield.
Greater Tucson Leadership fosters
and supports quality leadership in
the Tucson region through educational
programs and community events that
inform and motivate action. GTL offers
classes each year to select individuals
to enhance their knowledge of the
community and cultivate their leadership
skills. Many alumni have become influential
problem-solvers in our community.
