GTL Elects New Board Members
TUCSON, Ariz. (September 13, 2004)
Jean McKnight-Guymon
was recently elected president of
Greater Tucson Leadership, a Tucson
non-profit organization devoted to
building leaders in the Tucson community.
McKnight-Guymon, a teacher for the
Vail School District, community volunteer
and avid horsewoman, is a graduate
of the 2001 GTL class. She has served
on the board of directors for three
years and was instrumental in creating
Greater Tucson Leadership’s
Economic Development Community Forums.
Andrew Greenhill, Office of the Mayor,
was elected to serve as president-elect.
Jennifer Aviles, will serve as secretary
of the board, and Randall Brookshier,
Hammel & Co., will serve as treasurer
of the board.
New board of directors’ members
include Randy Accetta, Eller College,
University of Arizona, Katherine Galgiani
and Roger Watson representing the
GTL Senior Leadership Program, George
Good and Corey Reed, both of Rural/Metro
Fire Department, John Liosatos of
Pima Association of Governments, Michael
Luria owner of Café Terra Cotta,
Jennifer Soyka Penn, and Fred Peterson,
of Mesch Clark & Rothschild PC.
Continuing board of directors’
include, Mitchell Basefsky, Les Caid,
Dave Chandler, Kim Ferranti, Marcia
Klipsch, Eileen Lewis, Frances McNeely,
Mary Mitchell, Lea Peterson, Patty
Richardson, John Tabor, Terry Thompson,
and Anthony Wright.
Greater Tucson Leadership fosters
and supports quality leadership in
the Tucson region through educational
programs and community events that
inform and motivate action. GTL offers
classes each year to select individuals
to enhance their knowledge of the
community and cultivate their leadership
skills. Many alumni have become influential
problem-solvers in our community.
