TUCSON LEADER ELECTED
TO NATIONAL LEADERSHIP BOARD:
Community Leadership Association Selects Local Tucsonan, Patty Richardson,
for National Board
TUCSON, Ariz. (June 22,
2005) – Greater Tucson Leadership (GTL), a Tucson non-profit organization
devoted to inspiring, developing and promoting leadership in the Tucson community,
is pleased to announce that former GTL President, Patty Richardson, has been
elected to serve on the national Community Leadership Association Board of Directors.
This
is the first time that a Greater Tucson Leadership member has been elected to
the national board.
A
long-time Tucsonan and government affairs official for the Tucson Association
of Realtors, Richardson is no stranger to community involvement. She has served
on a variety of local and state committees and task forces and was President
of Greater Tucson Leadership in 2002-03.
“Patty’s
election to the national board is great for Tucson,” said Andrew Greenhill,
President of Greater Tucson Leadership. “It demonstrates the quality of
local leadership we have in Tucson to a national audience. And it testifies to
how well Patty has served GTL and the entire Greater Tucson community.”
The
Community Leadership Association (CLA) was formed in 1979 in response to the
need to organize community leadership programs across North America. CLA’s
mission is to enhance the capacity of local, state, regional, national and international
community leadership programs to strengthen and serve their communities.
Greater
Tucson Leadership’s
mission is to inspire, develop and promote leadership in our community. GTL is
a non-profit, non-partisan association best known for its annual Adult Leadership
Class, its sponsorship of the State of the City, State and County Addresses and
for its organization of many issue-based events that educate the community on
important local issues.
